Thousands of pounds were raised for a breast cancer support charity when 200 people attended a ladies night in Brean on Friday evening (October 13th).

Breast Cancer Now held its annual ladies night at Brean Leisure Park, where the adults-only evening included male performers, music, a charity raffle and disco.

Organiser Holly Macbeth said: “On behalf of the Somerset Breast Cancer Now group I want to say a huge thank you to all who came, supported and donated to our ladies night.”

“This was our sixth year of running the event which continues to grow and be so well supported.”

Somerset Breast Cancer Now’s next event will held on Sunday 19th November when its ‘Shop for a cure for Xmas’ fundraiser will be held at Berrow Village Hall from 10.30am-2pm.

The group’s main event of the year, its charity ball, will be held on 2nd December at the Batch Country House Hotel in Lympsham.

Holly added: “This will be our ninth ball and, as we are celebrating the 20th year this year since my parents started the group, we will also have the CEO along so it will be a very big important night for us.”
