Burnham-On-Sea police and fire crews were called to multiple accidents on the M5 motorway on Thursday (December 14th).

Earlier, at around 7.15am, Avon and Somerset Police reported three separate collisions – two southbound and one northbound between J22 at Burnham-On-Sea and J23 for Bridgwater North. There were no serious injuries, but the incidents caused long rush-hour queues for motorists.

Then at 11.30am the vehicle pictured above crashed into the central reservation on the M5 southbound near to junction 22 at Burnham-On-Sea.

Police and fire crews from Bridgwater and Burnham-On-Sea were called to the scene and fortunately found all the occupants free and clear of the vehicle.

The incidents occured during a day of hail and wintry weather.
