Burnham-On-Sea and Brent Knoll pupils take part in maths challenge

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Brent Knoll students have shown their numbers skills by taking part in a maths challenge this week.

Two teams of children, representing St Andrew’s Junior and Brent Knoll Primary, travelled to Wellington School to take part in the annual event.

Now in its 22nd year, the Maths Challenge is a prestigious event that attracts over 40 schools from across the county.

“The maths is particularly tough and is more akin to Year 8 standard than Year 6,” says Chris Burman, head teacher at Brent Knoll School, who was joined by Tom Hassall and Heather Cooke from St Andrew’s, in accompanying the children.

They all agreed that both their respective teams really enjoyed the experience, along with the challenge of working in a group to solve some really tricky questions.
