A ‘memory wall’ painted outside a Burnham-On-Sea pub has helped to raise funds for a local good Cancer support charity.

Burnham artist Damian Nicholson, pictured, has painted the colourful mural featuring Burnham’s iconic lighthouse outside the Lighthouse Pub in Highbridge Road.

Customers and local people have been invited to write the names of loved ones lost to Cancer on the wall and make a donation to Macmillan at the same time.

“The memory wall has been well supported with many names added, helping us raise funds for Macmillan,” Damian told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The pub’s fundraisers, pictured, have also held coffee mornings, quiz nights, raffles and football card fundraisers during recent months to raise an impressive combined total of £3,200 for Macmillan.

“We really are grateful for all the support shown by local people who have donated towards this super cause,” said fundraiser Julie Plested.

“A thank you also goes to the fundraising team and everyone at the pub who have helped make it such a success.”
