Highbridge’s Monarchs Gymnastics Club has been given a financial boost that has enabled it to buy new soft play equipment.

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council has recently awarded it a £1,220 grant and Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club has given it £200.

The Monarchs have purchased a range of new soft play equipment which is already benefitting toddlers, pre-school and recreational groups at the club.

“It helps with balance, coordination and ‘gross motor skills’ involved in movement and co-ordination in this younger age group – and they are having a lot of fun at the same time,” the group’s Mandy Warburton told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We are also offering the new equipment to local people booking birthday parties/family functions at the gym on Sundays.”

She added: “The grants are brilliant as we have a lot of equipment that needs replacing from years of use – we still have quite a lot to buy so we are still trying to raise money.”
