Burnham-On-Sea’s rescue hovercraft was called to Weston on Sunday evening (February 19th) after a man was reported to be in difficulty in mud.

“BARB’s volunteer crews were paged at 9.06pm by Milford Haven Coastguards to assist with an incident on Weston Beach where a vulnerable person was reported to be in difficulty in the mud,” said a BARB spokesman.

“Our rescue hovercraft was requested to assist Weston and Burnham Coastguards in reaching the person.”

“Just after we had left Burnham we heard that the man had fortunately been helped out of the mud by Police on the scene and we were stood down en route.”

“BARB’s volunteers are always on call 24 hours a day to assist with incidents like this.”
