Queens Square and Kiln Drive to get new parking spaces
and Highbridge town councillors have this week given their support
to the creation of a new 15 car spaces in residential areas of Highbridge.
councillors considered two separate proposals at a meeting of the
council's planning applications committee on Monday evening (November
extra spaces were approved for Queens Square, pictured above,
and five further spaces were also given the go-ahead for Kiln Drive.
Queens Square application will see additional parking created in
the open area and Cllr Andy Brewer told the meeting: "These
proposals will help to smarten up the square for residents while
keeping it as a nice open-plan area."
separate Kiln Drive application from Homes in Sedgemoor will create
five extra parking spaces and also enlarge the existing parking
John Parkes said: "I can't imagine Sedgemoor would do this
unless there was a strong rationale behind it. We know that parking
is an issue for many residents in Highbridge."
