The driver of a car seen driving ‘erratically’ in Burnham-On-Sea at the weekend has been jailed for 12 weeks for driving while disqualified and without insurance.

Daniel Sinton was seen driving a blue vehicle through the town centre and along Abingdon Street at around 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon (September 9th).

Witnesses told Burnham-On-Sea Police that they saw several girls inside the vehicle in a “distressed” state.

The police had issued an appeal to locate the vehicle amid concern for the youngsters’ welfare and to establish their safety.

Daniel Sinton, 34, of Owens Croft in Birmingham appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court this week where he pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle without insurance. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.

Burnham-On-Sea Police confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that the occupants in the vehicle are all now safe.
