A Burnham-On-Sea postcard collector had an amazing surprise after buying a card on eBay.
Nick Tolley, who runs a photography shop in Burnham’s Abingdon Street, regularly uses the auction site to buy old postcards featuring historic scenes of Burnham-On-Sea.
“I’ve just received one that I bought on the site featuring houses along The Esplanade – it’s a super scene from the early 1900s, complete with cars from the time,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“When the postcard arrived, though, I could hardly believe my eyes when I turned it over to read what was written.”
“My current home address is on the back – it had actually been sent here 99 years ago in 1918.”
“It’s an amazing coincidence and the card was clearly destined to come back here!”
