Parts of Burnham-On-Sea seafront hit by 12-hour power cut

-

A power cut left several Burnham-On-Sea seafront properties without electricity for over 12 hours on Friday (December 22nd).

Parts of the North Esplanade were plunged into darkness just after 1am – and power was not fully restored until around 1.45pm due to an underground cable fault.

But Western Power Distribution has been praised for its response by several affected residents.

Phoebe Pearce at the Round Tower Guesthouse told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Western Power’s response cannot be faulted – they were very quickly on scene in the middle of the night to try and sort out the fault.”

“They were so helpful and courteous and offered us an emergency generator to keep us operational.”

“Our power was restored after 12 hours, once the team had worked through the day to make the repairs, and I think they need to be thanked – they really provided superb customer service.”
