display of colourful hand-made quilts and flowers is on show at
Burnham-On-Sea's Catholic Church throughout this weekend to mark
its 50th anniversary celebrations.
Church of Our Lady and the English Martyrs in Highbridge Road, Burnham
is well worth a visit and is open today (Friday) and Saturday 16th
and 17th June from 10am to 5pm and then Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.
Sue Harvey, the floral artist, and Pat Nicholls, the quilter, are
both members of the church, have invited flower groups, churches
and quilters to join in and show their work, making it a community
has been creating quilts and teaching patchwork and quilting for
many decades and was a founder member and at one time, President
of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles.
