Budding young chefs from Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have taken part in a cooking competition in the town this week.

Six students from King Alfred School took part in the Rotary Club of Burnham-On-Sea Young Chef Competition on Thursday (October 19th).

After two hours preparing a three-course meal for two people with a maximum cost of £15, the winner was named as Izaack Strong, pictured right, a year 10 student.

Izaack will now represent the Rotary Club of Burnham-On-Sea at the District Young Chef Competition to compete with other Rotary Club Young Chef winners on Saturday 3rd February 2018.

He will be competing for a place at Regional competitions in March 2018.

Other competitors who were also praised for their excellent cooking skills were Catlin Hick, Jack Miller, Ferne Feasey, Luke Popel and Owen Channon.
