Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge groups share funding windfall

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge community groups are among those across the district set to benefit from nearly £10,000 of grant funding, thanks to awards given out this week by Sedgemoor District Council.

Highbridge's Monarchs Gymnastics Club has been awarded £1,390 towards new equipment of a mini high bar, two safety mats and a twisting belt.

Burnham's BOS Fest was granted £1,500 as a one-off start up grant for the proposed new music and performing arts festival that will be held in Burnham-On-Sea on 9th September.

And £1,000 was also awarded to Burnham Comic Con, to be held on 19th August. This new event will involve entertainers, special guests, retro arcade, cosplay masquerade and venders of collectables.

Sedgemoor Chess Club was also granted £400 towards helping them find a family-friendly venue where they can play chess and encourage younger members.
