Burnham-On-Sea's St Andrew's School celebrates 'good' Ofsted report

Staff and pupils at Burnham-On-Sea's St Andrew's School are celebrating this week after Ofsted graded it as 'Good' in all areas.

The Burnham school was subject to an Ofsted inspection on February 1st and 2nd this year and has been praised by the inspectors.

At present, safeguarding and children’s rates of progress are the main focus for the inspectors - and these have both come out well in the St Andrew's report.

Despite the introduction of more robust criteria and a tougher inspection regime since St Andrew's School was last inspected, the outcome of this inspection confirms that it continues to be an effective and supportive school.

Good standards of leadership and teaching combine with a strong ethos, and a clear vision of direction that is shared by the whole of the school community, added the inspectors.

The report goes on to recognise the quality of governance, leadership and teaching, and provides constructive and helpful advice and recommendations on how the staff can work together for the future development of the school.

Head teacher Ali Pook told "Together with the schools’ leadership team, staff, parents and Governors, I will continue to strive for effective school improvement to ensure the children of our community receive the very best education."
