Burnham-On-Sea student meets Princess Anne as part of UNICEF role

-

Former King Alfred School sixth form student Thrinayani Ramakrishnan says she was ‘honoured’ to meet Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace as part of her work for Unicef.

Thrinayani is one of only two UK Unicef Ambassadors and manages to combine this important role with her undergraduate studies at the University of Southampton, where she is reading Actuarial Science.

As a former member of the UK Youth Parliament, Thrinayani is a passionate campaigner, helping young people’s voices to be heard.

Thrinayani also holds the Sandy Padgett Pride of Somerset Youth Award and is currently a UNICEF UK Youth Advisor.

“Thrinayani achieved excellent A-Level results in the sixth form at KAS, leaving the school in 2016 with A grades in Maths and Chemistry and a B in Further Maths, and we all very proud of her civic commitment,” said the school’s Christine Platel this week.
