Burnham-On-Sea Tae-Kwon-Do enthusiast Matt Palfrey is this week celebrating after winning third place at the British Championships.

Matt, 28, who trains with the TAGB Tae Kwon-Do Club based at Highbridge’s King Alfred School, competed at the British Championships on November 5th at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena (NIA).

It was his first national competition as a Black Belt, and he was among 1,500 competitors taking part with international teams travelling from the Netherlands, Poland and the USA.

Senior instructor Jane Lambert told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Matt has been very focussed and committed to his training and took the big step up to black belt competition in his stride. He has huge potential and it will be interesting to see how he performs in next year’s World Championships.”

“Tae Kwon-Do is a great way to build confidence by encouraging you to succeed and to take control of your life. Beginners of all ages and abilities are alway welcome.”

The club trains every Tuesday and Thursday evening at King Alfred School in Highbridge when men, women and children of all ages and abilities are very welcome.
