Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club prepares for busy season

-

Following this month’s recent success of the 99th Annual Tournament which involved players of all ages from all over the country, Burnham’s Tennis Club, the Avenue Tennis Club, in The Grove, off Berrow Road, is preparing for its Autumn and Winter season.

There will be the opportunity, each Friday, from September 1st, 5 to 7pm, for parents to bring their youngsters along to have a go at swinging a racquet at Vinni’s Minis (racquets provided).

It’s free and parents can either drop off their children, join in the fun, play themselves or relax in the clubhouse with a cup of coffee or drink from the bar. Friday evenings will also give an opportunity for anybody to come with their friends to play tennis for £2 per person with balls provided.

The Avenue Tennis Club is a non-exclusive Club that is keen to welcome new members from those who’ve played tennis all their lives to those who want to renew an enthusiasm for the sport.

Anyone interested can enjoy a month’s free trial membership. There’s something for everyone.

Even those not wishing to play can become social members for less than £1 a month, enabling them to use the bar and attend fortnightly informal 3 course evening suppers for £8.

The Avenue Tennis Club is fortunate in having excellent facilities. In addition to eight courts, all with lighting and four of them with AstroTurf surfaces, it has a large excellent clubhouse with bar.

It is a great venue for wedding receptions, anniversaries and birthday parties and anyone who would like further information about Vinni’s Minis, membership or hiring can call Jane on 01278 785547.
