Burnham-On-Sea’s Trinity Close to switch on Christmas lights today

-

A Burnham-On-Sea cul-de-sac whose stunning display of over 100,000 twinkling Christmas lights has been dubbed ‘Britain’s most festive street’ will light up for the start of the festive season today (Friday, December 1st).

The Trinity Close residents have decorated their homes top to bottom with colourful lights, in addition to roofs, lawns and garden fences, and the display will be lit each night from 4.30pm-10pm until early January, in aid of local charities.

The Trinity Close display will be switched on at 7pm on Friday evening following a performance of festive music.

Visitors to the switch-on are being encouraged not to come by car and to be courteous to other residents in neighbouring streets.

Last Christmas, the five-week display in Trinity Close attracted crowds of visitors who generously dug deep to raise a record sum of £13,329 shared between BARB, which operates Burnham’s rescue hovercrafts, and PETAL: The Christine Woodberry Memorial Trust. Both charities will benefit this Christmas.

Visitors will be encouraged to make donations in a number of collection boxes located around the homes.
