Dozens of classic vehicles will arrive on Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront today (Saturday) for the 24th annual Vale of Avalon Vintage Vehicle Road Run.

The popular event will showcase a wide range of vintage vehicles, from cars, lorries and military vehicles, to emergency service cars and motorbikes.

Despite comments from the organiser last year that the event would not go ahead in 2017, the run will start as normal in Glastonbury and the vehicles will then head across the county to Burnham-On-Sea’s Pier Street Car Park on the South Esplanade at around 6.30pm.

The event has raised over £45,000 for charities and good causes throughout its history.

The vehicles will gather in Bretenoux Road, Glastonbury from 2.30pm, with many in position by 4pm, giving people time to look at them, buy a programme and make charity donations. They will leave at around 5pm for Burmham.

The drivers and passengers will then head for Burnham-On-Sea where they will gather in the Pier Street car park.
