Video & Photos: Weston Air Show wows crowds on Brean Down

The world-famous Red Arrows were among a great line-up of planes that soared across local skies at the weekend during the annual Weston Air Show.

Crowds of spectators headed to Brean Down to get a close-up view of the aircraft as they thundered past, as pictured here.

The Red Arrows flew by with several high-swooping loops in their familiar diamond formation and with colourful smoke trails behind them. The air show continued on Sunday, featuring a number of famous aviation names.

The popular show, which was held in two days of hot sunshine, also featured The Breitling Wingwalkers, aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and several aerobatic displays.

Other aircraft flying in included an RAF Typhoon, P51D Mustang, BAC Strikemaster Classic Jet Warbird and Muscle Pitts Bi-Plane, a Catalina Flying Boat and a Schweizer 300 ‘Otto’.
