Scores of people flocked to an open day organised by Burnham-On-Sea Woodturning Club on Saturday (September 23rd).

The club’s varied work went on display and visitors to the event at Burnham-On-Sea Methodist Church Hall in College Street were also able to find out more about using wood lathes.

The event was held to celebrate the 30th Birthday of the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB).

“We had a good turnout and thank everyone who came along to make the day a success,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Visitors were able to learn about what’s involved in using a lathe to turn wood into beautiful objects, talk to members of the club, and view examples of our work.”

Two turners were there through the day demonstrating their expertise.
