by several members of the public asking if we could do some sort
of similar award on a yearly basis to honour and recognise some
of the youngsters in our two towns for exceptional or noteworthy
actions or achievements."
at the under 18s, I would like our Council to establish a new yearly
award on this basis."
would be promoted through local media and a panel of pre-award scrutineers
would be set up to make a short-list."
could come from schools, parents, relatives or friends to highlight
why the young person in question should be honoured."
feel this Council will benefit by getting closer to youths in our
two towns while encouraging and promoting positive actions of reward
for special and caring individuals."
awards presentation ceremony is being planned to take place along
with an entertainment show staged completely by local young people.
added that the awards would be presented to winning children across
several age categories.
