Organisers at Burnham-On-Sea’s Zone Youth Club are to hold a fundraising cinema screening as part of their campaign to try and save the group from closure.

As first reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com last November, the club – based at the BAY Centre in Cassis Close – was set to shut when its funding from the Town Council ran out. However, we reported here in December that town councillors had temporarily extended the funding.

The Zone Youth Club’s committee now aim to secure the future of the organisation by fundraising for the club.

“We are holding a fundraising screening of the film BFG at The Ritz Cinema in Burnham on Saturday 25th February when all proceeds will go towards the club to help buy much needed equipment and secure its future,” said the club’s Jayne Lilley this week.

“We have lots of tickets available at just £2 a ticket which can be purchased on the day, however we advise that you contact us in advance to reserve tickets by emailing us at info@zoneyouth.org.uk.”

Doors will open at 9am and the film will start at 9.30am. There will also be a raffle too with some great prizes up for grabs as well as details of a new crowd funding page which will be packed with lots of rewards.

“We would like to thank The Ritz for their support and allowing us to use their Cinema and are very much looking forward to the event.”
