Burnham-On-Sea Police issue new witness appeal after ‘mass brawl’

-

Burnham-On-Sea Police have this week said they are continuing to investigate a ‘mass brawl’ in the town centre during Christmas week.

As first reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com, Police were called to a ‘mass brawl’ in Burnham-On-Sea’s Abingdon Street involving a group of up to 20 people shortoly after 1am on Wednesday December 27th.

Police spokesman Sam Malone told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “Enquiries are still ongoing in relation to the incident and we’d like to appeal for any witnesses to it to contact us on 101 quoting reference 5217293762.”

Police say only one man required hospital treatment for facial injuries.

One resident told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I live on Abingdon Street and it was horrendous what was going on – a huge fight that must have involved 15-20 people, mostly men, boys and a couple of girls. I had kids woken up by it who were frightened.”

Another resident added: “It was pretty scary – it went on for an hour.”
