A Burnham-On-Sea group is set to benefit from funding in the fourth round of the Hinkley Point C Community Fund Small Grants Programme.

The latest grants have been awarded to nine groups in the scheme administered by Somerset Community Foundation.

Burnham and Highbridge Air Cadets 290 Squadron has received a grant worth £4,158.

“It will support the development of an Adventure Training Control Facility,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“As new families move into the area, youth services such as the Air Cadets will become increasingly important.”

Other groups include Bridgwater Carnival Gangs & Features Association, Bridgwater Photographic Society, Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) Somerset, Crowcombe Parish Council, Lydeard St Lawrence Primary School PTFA, Minehead Museum, The Monkton Players and Stockland Sports Club.

The Hinkley Point C Community Fund supports community projects that will help to mitigate the impacts and take advantage of the opportunities of the Hinkley Point C project.

Charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises interested in applying for funding must normally operate on less than £100,000 a year.
