family of a man who died on Brean beach while trying to rescue a
car stuck in mud has thanked rescuers for trying to save his life.
John Kent, right, suffered a heart attack during the recovery
of a stranded Mercedes hire car on the beach next to Brean Down,
air ambulance also flew in to help the man, and several Burnham-On-Sea
Coastguards, paramedics, first aiders and a nurse attempted to revive
him by giving him CPR.
Louise Lay, his partner, has contacted Burnham-On-Sea.com this week
to thank those who were involved in the incident.
said: "I would like to thank everyone for their assistance
that day, especially the Coastguards and the emergency services
for all their efforts in trying to save my partner."
