Burnham-On-Sea’s MP has visited the owners of a town cafe to discuss the business climate in the town.

James Heappey visited George Eckford and Zena Driver, owners of Coffee Corner in Abingdon Street.

George told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We recently emailed James’ office to invite him into our coffee shop to show him the business and have a chat about life as small business owners, especially in the current retail climate.”

“It was great to be able to engage at this level with our local MP, who was both attentive to our concerns as a small business but also to the wider issues around the current retail landscape and how it is affecting Burnham’s High Street.”

“James said that he’s encouraging Burnham to embrace changes that will hopefully bring further tourism to the area, especially with the enhancements planned for the seafront and town centre, but also with reinvigorating the ‘Burnham experience’ for those that come.”
