A Brean holiday park has installed a life-saving defibrillator outside of the village’s Subway restaurant after a fundraising campaign.
The kit has been bought with funds organised by Caroline Milarski, who led a fundraising campaign with Brean Leisure Park’s market traders.
Garry Haines, Security Operations Manager at Holiday Resort Unity, pictured, said: “The idea originated after a customer suffered a cardiac arrest in the market area last year and sadly passed away.”
“This affected the market traders and they decided to raise the funds for the Automated External Defibrillator and cabinet.”
Holiday Resort Unity was approached by Caroline to see if they could place the unit at the resort.
Garry added: “It was decided to place it at our Subway restaurant as a supplement to our three existing defibs we have in locations across the resort, all of which have been upgraded this year with SWASFT, who provide us with ongoing training and support for our team from the NHS.”
“We understand the vital importance of these life-saving AEDs and are proud to be able to place the public-use Automated External Defibrillator outside of our Subway site. It sits perfectly alongside the ones bought and installed by Brean Seasonal Caravanners.”
