Fire crews were called to Monks Ford in Wookey on Sunday evening where a vehicle had become submersed in approximately 3ft of fast flowing water. The occupants - a 60-year-old lady and 65-year-old gentleman - were initially stuck in waist-deep water but were free and clear of the vehicle when crews arrived. An ambulance was requested to attend both casualties as a precaution since they had been in the water for around 15 minutes and were showing signs of shock.
