Met Office had issued a yellow warning for heavy rain in parts of
the south west region.
crews were called to Monks Ford in Wookey on Sunday evening where
a vehicle had become submersed in approximately 3ft of fast flowing
water. The occupants - a 60-year-old lady and 65-year-old gentleman
- were initially stuck in waist-deep water but were free and clear
of the vehicle when crews arrived. An ambulance was requested to
attend both casualties as a precaution since they had been in the
water for around 15 minutes and were showing signs of shock.
