Three Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers endured very wet weather during a 26.2 mile trek across London for charity.

Mike Barsby, Lewis Kerton and Paul Hale from the Ritz Social Club took on the London Trekathon last weekend to raise money for Childrens Hospice South West with an original target of £1,000.

Speaking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, Paul Hale, General Manager at the Ritz, said: “We undertook the challenge two years ago and completed it a lot quicker than this year. The weather hampered our attempts in central London with a sea of umbrellas to navigate around.”

“Although walking for that distance may not sound a long time it certainly takes its toll on the hips and knees come mid way, but overall it was worthwhile for such a great charity.”

“The total raised so far, including Gift Aid, is £1,825 and there is still some sponsorship money to come in.”

“We would all like to thank everyone that supported us on this challenge.”
