The construction of a new £4million clubhouse at Brean Golf Club is taking shape and is set to open in the Autumn of this year.

The clubhouse will also form part of a luxury lodge development that will be called Brean Country Club and over time will see the addition of a bowling green and tennis courts.

As well as being the golf clubhouse the venue will also be a premium venue for weddings, functions and events.

“The construction of the building is progressing well with the roofing sheets now in place,” Kieran Spottiswoode, Director, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We knew from the plans and the artists impressions that we had drawn up that the building was going to look really striking but actually being able to stand inside it now you get a real sense of just how big it is.”

“The views out towards Brent Knoll, over to the Mendips and north to Uphill are really special and as well as being a fantastic facility for the golf club and lodge owners we think it will be a fantastic venue for weddings, parties and business meetings.”

The building will feature two function rooms, one on the ground floor and the other on the first floor, both with external wraparound balconies and a coffee lounge.

It will also feature a golf pro shop and full kitchen to service the venue and provide a daily food menu as well as cater for functions and events.

The total cost of the development is likely to be just over £4 million and it will create several employment opportunities for both full and part time work at various levels.

The photomontages below show how the finished building will look.
