Burnham-On-Sea fire crews rescue injured motorist from car in ditch

-

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters rescued a motorist trapped inside a car in a ditch early on Sunday morning (February 4th).

Two fire appliances from Burnham-On-Sea were sent to Harp Road, between Brent Knoll and Mark, at 4am.

“On arrival, crews confirmed one vehicle was in a ditch with the male driver trapped inside complaining back and neck pain,” said a spokesman.

“Crews initially stabilised the vehicle and used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle in preparation for extrication.”

“The casualty was removed from the vehicle on a long board and was left in the hands of the ambulance service, who were also in attendance.”
