Two Burnham-On-Sea residents are taking part in a sponsored head shave today (Friday) for a town charity.

Graeme and Charlie Finch will lose their locks during the fundraiser for Burnham’s BARB Search & Rescue.

Graeme said: “BARB is one of those services that you see out in the bay, well equipped, professional, and out in all weathers and at any time of day.”

“You might think they must be a publicly funded service like the Police, or ambulance service, but that isn’t the case, the crews are all volunteers and the kit is all paid for through charitable fundraising.”

“It’s a service where the results and activities leave you in no doubt that it is essential. I can’t crew because I had a serious back injury in my youth, so that leaves raising a few quid and making people aware.”

The event will take place at Lowe’s Barber Shop in Burnham High Street and donations can be made online here.
