Burnham-On-Sea Hospital gets sparkling boost at starry-themed event

-

Burnham-On-Sea Hospital has been given a £1,100 boost thanks to a fundraising evening.

More than 150 supporters of the Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Hospital packed The Oaktree on Saturday for the ‘Starry, Starry Nite’ a fundraiser.

Those who attended were encouraged to wear sparkly clothes and they didn’t disappoint.

Chairman Bernard Spilsbury said: “We had one of everybody’s favourite meals – pie, chips and peas – followed by our now famous tombolas, with prizes of chocolates, boxes of biscuits, bottles of wine and bottles of spirits. Then it was down to two and half hours of dancing with the Lipinski Band.”

He added: “It makes all the hard work that goes into putting on these events worth it to know that everyone had a great time and at the same time helped us raise £1,100 for projects that we have ongoing at the hospital.”
