More than 250 job and apprenticeship opportunities were up for grabs when Sedgemoor District Council held its 5th annual Recruitment Fair in Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday.

Dozens of local people headed to the fair at The Princess Theatre to get help on finding training, job advice and new roles.

The event is held each year by Sedgemoor Distict Council and was opened by the authority’s Chairman, Councillor Mike Cresswell, as pictured above.

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s great to see so many opportunities being offered by local companies, many of whom are expanding and looking to fill vacancies.”

Among those on hand were EDF, Holiday Resort Unity, Pontins, New Directions Social Care, Avon, HOST Somerset Ltd, Somerset Skills and Learning.

More than 250 job and apprenticeship opportunities were promoted at the Fair alongside help being provided by recruitment agencies, trade bodies, careers services and training organisations.
