Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge students at King Alfred School are celebrating success.

Year 13s at King Alfred School have just received outstanding results in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) with 87% getting A*-B grades.

“The EPQ was developed with universities in mind and is similar to undergraduate dissertations, which promote independent research and transferable skills such as time management, problem solving and oral presentation,” said Jonathan Gaskell, Head of Sixth Form.

“This year, projects ranged across many subjects from Physics and Geography to Philosophy and Business while special mention must be made for Hannah Sainsbury’s outstanding A* achievement for her assignment on the development of language.”

“Year 13s are rightly buzzing following these results as they approach the busy exam season and the excitement of university and employment await.”
