Wintry weather failed to halt a family kite-making workshop and fun day in Berrow at the weekend.

Saturday’s event was held at The Sundowner cafe next to Beachside Holiday Park in Berrow, with funds being raised for Sports Relief.

One of the organisers, Gaynor Brown, from BOS Events said the day had been enjoyed by a steady stream of visitors despite the cold conditions.

Instructors were on hand to help families make their kites ahead of two local kite festivals coming up this year.

The first event will be held on June 2nd and 3rd on Berrow beach in front of Beachside Holiday Park. And Burnham-On-Sea’s popular Kite Festival will be held on the town’s main beach on September 8th and 9th.
