The family of murdered Highbridge woman Laura Biss have released a touching tribute following her tragic death at the weekend.

Laura, aged 34, died during the early hours of Saturday morning (20th January).

Laura’s family said in a statement issued today (Tuesday): “Laura was a beautiful daughter, a fantastic mother and a great sister.”

“She was sensitive, caring and compassionate and would think nothing of going out of her way to help others.”

“She had a great sense of humour which made her very popular. She touched so many people’s lives in a positive way.”

“She was also a talented artist, who had a great future ahead of her.”

“Words cannot express what her loss means to all her family and friends – we are heartbroken and totally devastated.”

Christopher Harris, of no fixed address, who was charged with the murder of Laura, as well as causing death by dangerous driving, appeared at Taunton Deane Magistrates Court today where he was remanded in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court on Thursday 25th January.

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to Highbridge resident Laura Biss, 34, who tragically died in the town at the weekend.

Police said that Christopher Harris, of no fixed address, has been charged with the murder of Laura, whose body was found in Burnham Road during the early hours of Saturday morningm January 20th.

Among the emotional tributes online was one from Hollie Smithers, who writes: “Laura Jayne Biss Love you so much beautiful girl. I’d do anything to see you again, you always brightened up my day and I feel so lucky to call you my friend, miss you soo much.”

Ranna Zahra Suhail added: “I am sitting stunned at the news that a beautiful friend, mother and talented soul Laura Jayne Biss has passed away. Laura was beautiful inside and out. She was sunshine on the cloudiest day. Her energy, strength and talent were breathtaking. The world is not the same without you.”

“My deepest condolences are with your family. I see you now painting in heaven and I know you always will inspire me to keep painting – our last conversation even though we are far from each other was about how much ‘we loved art’. You are in my heart darling girl.”

Hayley Gilham added: “Broken hearted to hear of the sudden passing of Laura Jayne Biss. On the few times we’ve met its been nothing short of fun and crazy times, you really were a scream to be around! God rest your beautiful soul my darling!”
