Burnham-On-Sea runner’s emotional marathon bid after miscarriages

-

A Burnham-On-Sea man is in training to run the London Marathon for a cause very close to his heart.

Michael Frost and his wife Marie were devastated when she suffered three miscarriages in the space of 18 months while they were trying for a baby.

The couple struggled to cope after the emotional losses and sought help and comfort from each other – and the Miscarriage Association.

Michael told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I’m running the London Marathon, the Bath half and the Weston half this year in aid of the Miscarriage Association.”

“It was a hard time for us and the charity were there with advice and guidance for us.”

“I’m trying to raise the profile of the charity and also to create a dialogue as it’s not something that people talk about, especially men.”

Marie says she’s “hugely proud” of Michael for attempting the London Marathon, which takes place on April 22nd.

The couple have now got a baby boy, Will, with a second child on the way.

The Miscarriage Association gives support to families affected by miscarriage, molar pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy through online information packs and their helpline.

Michael sponsorship page is here and he also has a blog here explaining his journey so far.
