Tributes have been paid to a 49-year-old Burnham-On-Sea woman who has tragically passed away after a brave battle with cancer.

Michele Bradshaw died with close family members around her on April 29th, having fought liver cancer for many months.

In June last year Michele was disgnosed with cancer and was told that there was no treatment available. While Doctors gave her a life expectancy of 3-6 months, she bravely fought on for 10 months and lived life to the full.

Michele loved the sunshine and being in water and during her last few months was often seen bobbing around in the pool and jacuzzi at Burnham’s Home Farm, where she was a member.

She moved to Burnham from Bristol 16 years ago with her children Jasmin, Curtis and Kane. They attended St Andrew’s School and King Alfred School in Highbridge. Sienna was born 10 years ago.

Michele adored her three grandchildren – Tyler, Summer-Mai and Oakley – and she became a nanny to Tyler seven years ago, just at the time she battled breast cancer. She fought it and, after chemo and surgery, was initially given the all clear.

Among many heartbreaking tributes that have been posted online was one from Jasmin who says: “My beautiful mamma passsed away with all her family around her. To say we are all devastated doesn’t even come close. I’m absolutely heartbroken. My heart hurts so much I don’t think I’ll ever be the same – none of us will. I miss you so much already mumma. You are my best friend. I love you to the moon, the stars and back again.”

Friend Gemma Crabb says: “Heaven has gained the strongest person I know… rest in peace, beautiful lady. Michele, you’re a true inspiration and I’m glad that I got to call you my friend.”

Sarah Greenwood adds: “Fly high, my fun-loving, sun-loving, inpsirational, strong, fighting, amazing, beautiful friend. Whenever I see the sunshine I will think of you.”

Amanda Healey adds: “I’m heartboken at the loss of a beautiful lady who always had a smile and an ear to listen. Sweet dreams and fly high.”

Sienna, Jasmin and several family and friends are planning to take part in Weston’s Race For Life on June 20th in Michele’s memory.
