During the week that the NHS is celebrating its 70th anniversary, Burnham-On-Sea’s St Andrew’s Church has unveiled a new exhibition focussed on the NHS.

Called ’70×7′, it is an exploration of the NHS and its qualities by local author and artist Dave Eldergill, who was himself a trained NHS nurse in the 1980’s and 90’s.

“Using a variety of media and original sources including paintings, photography, charcoal drawings, and a recently released book, the exhibition embraces and explores the diversity present within the NHS,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It covers the people who use it, the people who work for it and the original inspiration of an institution that has become deeply embedded, loved and crucial in our society.”

The exhibition runs for a month, and is open from Monday to Saturday, 11am-4pm in the church.
