Burnham-On-Sea Ritz Cinema completes refurbishment of main screen

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Cinema has this month re-opened its main screen following a major refurbishment.

Screens 1 and 2 were created in 2016 with new seats and decoration, but screen 1 has not been updated since the Ritz Cinema in Burnham’s Victoria Street was re-opened approximately 13 years ago.

Therefore, work has been underway to refurbish the largest screen with new seats, a new sound system and new lighting, as well as new flooring and sound-proofing.

“We also now have an alcohol license, so we are selling a selection of wines, beers and spirits for people to enjoy while watching a film at The Ritz – and we also continue to sell hot and cold drinks, sweets and snacks,” owner Pat Scott told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The changes should make a visit to The Ritz even more enjoyable, especially as our ticket prices remain at £4.00 each, except for special screenings such as the broadcasts from The Royal Opera House or other theatres across the UK.”

“We continue to show a good selection of the latest films as well as special screenings such as Matthew Bourne’s ballet Cinderella and the film Dam Busters with a presentation from The Albert Hall to celebrate 75 years since the daring raid. Both screenings will be held in May at The Ritz Cinema.”

Burnham-On-Sea Chamber Of Trade has welcomed the latest upgrade with a spokesman saying: “The Ritz Cinema provides wonderful modern facilities in the centre of our town – a marvellous asset to Burnham.”
