Burnham-On-Sea RNLI has this week been given a cheque for over £2,000 from Hinkley Point Contractor Costain towards training costs.

RNLI crewmembers at Wednesday’s training evening welcomed a team from Costain to the Pier Street station in Burnham, as pictured here.

During their visit, they handed over a cheque for £2,201 to Lifeboat Operations Manager Matt Davies.

The funding will help support the station’s training budget for two specific volunteers.

One of the supported boat crew is this week attending a course at the lifeboat college in Poole.

Burnham-On-Sea Lifeboat Operations Manager Matt Davies said: “We welcome the continuing RNLI sponsorship from Costain. Training is very important both for our crews, and also for those who we rescue.”

RNLI lifeboat volunteers are given all the training needed to perform their designated roles.
