Kerbside rubbish collection time changes are being introduced across the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge area that mean that all household rubbish and recycling must now be out by 7am.

Somerset Waste Partnership has announced this week that the timing of waste pick-ups for all homes across our district will be changing over the next two weeks.

Collection rounds are being overhauled “to improve efficiency and better reach the growing number of new homes,” says the organisation.

It adds that a limited number of families will also have changes to the day when their recycling and rubbish is collected. Those households affected will receive an individual letter explaining exactly what will be happening and when.

Nick Cater at Somerset Waste Partnership told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Many residents will have earlier collections due to these changes and so, from now on, everyone must do their best to ensure their containers are out by 7am on collection day or the night before.”

“Options for residents who miss the collection trucks on the new timetable include storing materials to their next pick-up or – if they have time and transport – taking their recycling or rubbish to a recycling site.”
