Sky dive for Burnham-On-Sea charity postponed due to weather

-

A sky dive in aid of a Burnham-On-Sea charity has been postponed until later in the year after poor weather led to it being called off on Bank Holiday Monday.

A dozen daring Burnham-On-Sea residents were set to take part in the adrenaline-filled event for BARB Search & Rescue over Salisbury Plains on Monday, but low cloud and patchy fog halted it.

Several of the jumpers will be taking part in their first ever jump at 10,000ft while others are bravely jumping from 15,000ft.

Martin Brown said: “I have been wanting to do a jump for years – and when I heard the event was being organsied for this great local cause I decided to go for it.”

George Simmons, 16, added: “It will be my first jump – I’m really looking foward it. It will be an adrenaline rush while raising money for a great local cause.”
