Burnham-On-Sea Princess Theatre to host unique 'Two Man Macbeth'

A unique two-actor theatre production of Macbeth that makes Shakespeare fresh and exciting is coming to Burnham-On-Sea this February.

Out of Chaos, a London-based touring company who’ve won awards and filled theatres around the world since 2008, are bringing 'Two Man Macbeth' to Burnham-On-Sea's Princess Theatre on Friday 9th February for a special 3pm matinee.

More than 20 roles are played by the two award-winning actors in a fast and furious 80 minute version of Macbeth.

"The production features beautiful poetry, electric drama and playful comedy and is an accessible, clear, engaging production that makes Shakespeare fresh and exciting," says the Princess Theatre's Manager Sam Nicol.

It's suitable for adults of all ages, and for young people aged 12+.

Combining highly skilful physical theatre with powerful text work and vibrant characters, it also features original music by composer and RSC musician Phill Ward.

Tickets are priced for adults: £15, Concessions, students: £10, and the All 3 price is 8. The 'All 3 Price' is for anyone coming to see Macbeth, A Doll's House AND The Knicker Lady at The Princess.

After original shows exploring Greek and Norse myths, the Out of Chaos company are taking on Shakespeare for the first time, but there won’t be anything traditional about their Macbeth. Originally developed and performed at mac birmingham in 2016, the show returns with a bang in 2018, touring the UK and US.

Two multi-award winning actors take on this colossal challenge. Paul O’Mahony has performed Shakespeare around the world with many companies, including the RSC. Troels Hagen Findsen is a Danish actor based in Copenhagen, who won three awards at Birmingham’s BE Festival, and performed alongside Paul in all Out of Chaos’ previous productions.

Paul said: "This is the greatest challenge we’ve taken on. Macbeth is an enormous story: full of action, horror and fascinating relationships. And we are going to deliver that with two bodies and two voices, plus brilliant original music and lighting. Troels and I are going to work like never before!"

A group of GCSE students from King Alfred School in Highbridge will be among the audience coming to see the show.
