Geography education video to be filmed on Burnham-On-Sea beach

A unique video is being shot on Burnham-On-Sea and Berrow beaches this month which will be used by geography students around the world.

Sedgemoor District Council is helping the educational out-reach film project, called The Time for Geography, by waiving its usual filming fees.

Council spokeswoman Claire Faun said: "The coastline between Brean Down and Burnham-On-Sea provides an excellent case study, with its extensive coastal management strategy. The video is being developed in collaboration with academics at the University of the West of England in Bristol."

The Time for Geography project brings together film students and geography researchers to create free geographical teaching videos for schools.

The videos are translated into over 20 major languages and are used increasingly by foreign languages schools, colleges and universities.
