Burnham-On-Sea charity shops to hold volunteer recruitment drive

Weston Hospicecare shops in Burnham-On-Sea will be holding a volunteer recruitment week during February.

The event takes place from 5th-10th February and will allow interested volunteers to find out more about they can help.

"It will focus on our new store from 5th-7th, and our £1 store from 8th-10th," the charity's Becky Fuller told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Weston Hospicecare's shop opened in Burnham-On-Sea High Street last October, selling a wide range of clothing and household goods. The charity's second shop is a '£1 charity shop' in Burnham's College Street.

"By supporting the stores, customers will be helping to ensure that Weston Hospicecare can continue to provide specialist palliative care to those affected by life-limiting illnesses in Burnham-On-Sea, Weston-super-Mare, and the surrounding areas."

"Weston Hospicecare costs over £4 million to keep running each year, and only 20% of those running costs are funded by the NHS."

"The rest is raised through the generosity of the local community, who take part in fundraising events or shop in the wide network of shops."
