Police release e-fit description of Burnham-On-Sea
Tesco robbery suspect
Police
in Burnham-on-Sea have released an e-fit description and further
details about an armed robbery at the town's Tesco store earlier
this week.
The
robbery took place at the Love Lane store at 5.54pm on Tuesday
October 11th, when a Securicor guard was delivering cash to ATM
machines.
He
was attacked by a gang of four masked men, who were travelling
in a black Seat Alhambra MPV vehicle, which was later found burned
out by the side of the B3140 Brent Road, near Burnham. The security
guard required minor treatment for an arm injury at Musgrove Park
Hospital.
Police
say that they believe the Seat MPV may have been in the area earlier
that day and after the incident followed a route along Love Lane,
Stoddens Road, Berrow Road, before turning into Brent Road.
They
believe the men then might have made their escape in a second
vehicle, which may have been parked or driven to the Brent Road
area.
Police
believe that the occupants of the Seat MPV had northern accents
and may have been staying locally at a campsite or at a local
guesthouse.
They
have described one of the suspects as a white man wearing a baseball
cap with a blue scarf pulled over his face. He was wearing a black
bomber-style jacket, blue jeans and training shoes.
They
have also issued an e-fit of one of the four men who they believe
may have been in the area before the robbery took place.
Taunton
CID would like to speak to anyone who may recognise the man, witnessed
the raid or may have any information, which could help police
enquiries.
They
can be contacted on 0845 4567000 or alternatively you can call
Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. You do not have to give your name
and could qualify for a reward.
