Armed
raiders strike again at Burnham-On-Sea's Tesco store
Police
in Burnham-On-Sea are appealing for witnesses and information
after an armed robbery at the towns Tesco store on Love
Lane.
At
2.15pm on Monday, November 21, 2005, a Securicor guard was transferring
cash from the store to his nearby van when he was confronted by
three masked men carrying knives.
He
was then struck over the head and forced to hand over a bag containing
a large amount of cash, although he was not seriously injured.
All
three men then made off in a black Ford Galaxy car which was later
discovered at nearby Stoddens Lane in Burnham.
Police
enquiries have revealed that the Galaxy was stolen during a burglary
in Clevedon on Thursday, November 17.
The
incident comes just five weeks after a seperate armed raid at
the store on October 11th when a significant sum of money was
stolen from Securicor guards as they delivered money at the side
of the building. Police
are currently not linking the robberies.
Police
would like to speak to anyone who has any information about the
raid or may know the offenders involved.
